Community Based Rehabilitation
The Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) program is an extended effort to reach children and youth in rural areas. Our team of rehabilitation professionals along with community workers make regular visits to Public Health Centres and Government Hospitals for newborn screening. We use an assessment process to identify children who have risks of disability and start them on a remedial action plan.
SPASTN CBR teams provide the initial impetus, therapies, special education, social interaction, inclusion and vocational training. The CBR operates out of Primary Health Centre/s, General Hospital and social service organizations. The parents and families are part of the Rehabilitation Centre and contribute their help and support whenever needed.
